There are certain spaces into which light cannot shine. These spaces are reserved for the dark only. To force light into them is destructive. Dark interiors are where most growth begins. We all started in the dark.
Beginnings in life are inextricably linked to growth. I’ve been pondering on this and have found that for some time now I haven’t really had any new beginnings. Am I a bit too settled? Perhaps I can go looking for some, but that’s not the way it works. New beginnings kind of knock on the door in their own time. They have their own rhythm and kairos moments about them and it has everything to do with hearing and responding, or not. I suspect my listening has become a little rusty, or maybe I’m just meant to be settled at this time.
My neighbour gave me a small slip which I planted last Autumn. It has now turned into this. Hard to believe that in that tiny slip, this was waiting to express itself.
There is within things a beautiful urgency to grow and fulfil themselves, and when this growth and fulfilment are authentic, there is beauty. Beauty and authenticity are inextricably linked. When something is authentic you cannot help but be touched by its beauty.
