Bluebells

I took a walk through the woods today and saw the sheer beauty of carpets and carpets of bluebells. The woods were dark, but dabbled with sunlight and mystery. I had the distinct feeling of not being alone. The woods have that affect on me. When I’m in them I always feel I’m surrounded by presence. I have no language to articulate it. It’s not an ominous thing, just a mysterious and beautiful presence.

My name is Don Scrooby and I live in The United Kingdom. I feel that more than anything else, nature, and the objective things around us, convey a speech and a message we always need to listen to and follow. This kind of listening is life-giving and there is a certain form spirituality about it. In this blog, through the the photographic image and accompanying words, I’ve tried to share this experience as simply as I can. There is an underlying beauty in nature we all need to see and experience, especially in this day and age as we struggle to save our planet. Most of my shots are taken with a Fujifilm XT100 camera and my Iphone. I’m no professional Photographer, but I do enjoy outdoor walks with my simple gear trying to capture what I see and experience.

    1. Thank you LuAnne. So appreciate your comment and thank you for the link. What a beautiful article. I was deeply touched by so much of what was said. Such life-giving words and so much to ponder on. Apart from many other insights, I was moved by the one on Alzheimers and it’s connection to the way we treat the earth.

Sadly, that very wood I walk through so often, will be torn down to make way for houses. I find it hard to grasp this kind of destruction.

  1. I feel that same presence when I walk through our urban forest, it would break my heart to lose any part of it…a devastating storm in 2006 changed many parts of the forest but nature has repainted those areas in beauty once again.
