STCU Offices – Sandpoint
ALSC Architects completed the mountain contemporary interiors for STCU, the Northwest credit union’s location in Sandpoint, Idaho.
STCU is the Inland Northwest’s largest and most successful credit union. Founded in 1934 by English teacher Ernie McElvain in Spokane, Washington, STCU has grown to more than 710 employees serving 226,000+ members at 25 locations.
For STCU’s new branch in Sandpoint, Idaho, ALSC found inspiration in the spectacular natural setting. Located at the turn-off to Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort in North Idaho, the “mountain contemporary”-style building provides a welcoming presence for current and prospective customers.
The building’s construction features local materials including exposed timber, exterior stone panels, and stone flooring. The design includes three drive-through lanes offering teller and ATM access, as well as a 24-hour walk-up ATM. Members can also come inside to do their banking, then relax in the living room or enjoy the spectacular views of the Selkirk Mountains from an outside patio on a sunny day.
