Soliant Health Offices – Peachtree Corners
NELSON Worldwide created a sleek and comfortable design for the Soliant Health offices in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
Soliant Health recently opened a new office in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, with the goal to connect their employees in a collaborative and welcoming environment. As one of the nation’s largest healthcare staffing organizations, Soliant Health needed a two-floor, modern facility for staff and visitors coming in for interviews and meetings. To lead the design of its new workspace, Soliant Health selected award-winning architecture and design firm NELSON Worldwide. This is the first project between NELSON and Soliant Health. The design concept will serve as a prototype for future Soliant Health offices.
As a recruiting firm, Soliant Health’s office has a lot of foot traffic. The new 26,041-square-foot fifth-floor space is dedicated to visitors and interview-focused work. Once guests arrive, they are greeted by a hospitality-inspired lobby. The entrance is equipped with a custom built-in art display, coffee bar and built-in banquette area, polished tile flooring, and wood veneer wall providing an elevated and welcoming atmosphere to salute interviewees prior to their meetings. NELSON prioritized comfort and intimacy and incorporated five interview rooms with “L” shaped booths. These non-traditional rooms, located near the lobby, are doorless yet outfitted in blue-frosted glass that only covers half of the doorway. The design is meant to make interviewees feel comfortable, safe, and semi-transparent.
Soliant Health’s previous office was located on multiple floors in the same building, leaving the team figuratively and literally disconnected. The new workspace is based on two floors with 363 workstations and is more connected than the previous space. Implementing collaboration areas was a priority; while teammates have dedicated workstations, they can choose from various shared workspaces to plug into throughout the day. Conference rooms and a variety of small huddle rooms are also available for meetings and internal brainstorming sessions. The breakout rooms feature bar height tables, multiple coffee bar and lounge areas, and soft-seating collaboration spaces. These are intermixed throughout the open office, helping to provide additional special definition between departments as well as quick and easy accessibility. The new work area reflects Soliant’s casual culture and is in lock-step with Soliant’s goal to foster collaboration. For instance, modular lounge sofas are equipped with wings on the back, allowing people to sit or be perched behind, encouraging conversation. In addition to inspiring collaboration, the space is flexible with modular and mobile furniture that can be moved around for larger social gatherings and after-work events.
On both office floors, Soliant Health’s pink and teal color scheme is prominently displayed and complemented by other bright colors to channel the energy and culture of the staffing company. The design team and Soliant Health wanted to avoid the placement of any posters and signage to let the brand’s color palette make a bold statement throughout. In addition to celebrating the company’s mission and branding through color, there is a large display case filled with shovels to highlight the firm’s unique culture. The shovels were adapted by leadership as a symbol of growth and are a part of their award process. Solidifying the sense of hospitality and the comforts of home, the NELSON design team brought in a local woodworker to craft a series of farmhouse-like tables to pay homage to Soliant’s culture, creating a more inviting and comforting workplace.
