  • Duman Architects delivered a sophisticated and inventive space for the Meg Media offices in Istanbul, Turkey.

In this project, which was carried out in one of the historical buildings of the Kuruçeşme coastline for the Meg Media head office, the interior design has been realized while preserving the originality of the building. In a total area of 910 m2, the ground floor has more shared and flexible working areas, while the upper floor has administrative units. In this direction, though the sharp boundaries between the spaces on the ground floor were eliminated, the daily movement cycle in the office operation was supported by the architectural design.

The holistic design of the reception area, which benefits from the height of two floors, stands out in materials and details. Steel construction that provides the connection between floors while the hidden luminous vertical movements studied on the parallel walls of this phenomenon continue uninterruptedly, this phenomenon provides support. With the mirror wall covering preferred on the side of the stairs, the perception of the place’s depth has been strengthened. In this way, extra emphasis is placed on the common circulation line for this office operating in the communication sector. Another element that supports the interior dynamics is the important works that can be seen in other parts of the office in the gallery area.
On the upper floor, instead of similar dynamic exposed concrete walls, it is continued with a specially designed linear window film for the glass partitions preferred at the boundaries of the space.

In the executive room, which has the most beautiful view of the Bosphorus, which can be seen from the narrow, high and arched windows of the building, a modern design that emerges by blending oval lines bearing hints of the old structure and sharper forms in harmony has been preferred.
