Wipro Offices – Austin
Gensler designed the Wipro office to strike a careful balance of diverse workplace settings and amenity offerings for the multinational conglomerate company’s location in Austin, Texas.
The office is organized with enclosed spaces, such as phone and wellness rooms, at the core that transition through varying levels of openness with its open workspace wrapping the perimeter of the floor plate. The flexible planning strategy allows the office to evolve for the growing Wipro community.
Upon entering the space, guests are greeted by a backlit Wipro logo that’s pin-mounted to a wrapping wood slat enclosure which reveals a gradient of color at the substrate. At the heart of the lobby is a tiered, concrete seating area incorporated with planters that reference the local Austin topography. The space features a custom millwork servery with adjacent café seating, as well as a large, linear wood reception desk that also functions as a coworking table for clients and visitors.
At the top of the interconnecting stairs, the employee break room offers a dynamic social experience with premium amenities and a variety of seating styles, including a colorful dual-height banquette inspired by the energy of an Austin sunrise. Joyful colors, tonal upholsteries, and playful display shelves adorn the space, while integrated planters throughout bring the outside in as an added layer of biophilia.
Leveraging the connectedness to social spaces, the design locates all guest-facing meeting rooms adjacent to the reception area, strengthening wayfinding and giving security to the workplace. Conference rooms vary in size and are inspired by nearby Austin landmarks, such as Barton Springs, Secret Beach, and Hamilton Pool — each boasting a signature name, vibe, and materiality.
A collection of collaboration spaces wrapping the core feature tackable and writeable wall surfaces, a variety in seating styles, wall monitors, and colorful acoustical draperies. Like the Wipro brand, the space is a celebration of color, connectedness, evolving technology, and the unique Austin culture.
